Massage

Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions. Regular massage therapy treatment has a therapeutic effect on the body and optimizes health and well-being by acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems.

What are the benefits of massage?
There are tremendous benefits to be achieved through regular massage therapy treatments from a Registered Massage Therapist. Whether your need is to have a time for relaxation, reduce muscle tension or attain relief from chronic pain, a therapeutic massage can enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being as well as your quality of life. Massage therapy benefits people of all ages. While it benefits the injured, the ill and the stressed, the strength of massage therapy in preventing illness and conditions before they develop cannot be overlooked. Massage therapy can be used in the treatment of both acute and chronic stages of conditions.

Reflexology

Reflexology is an ancient healing art which can induce healing by applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands and ears which correspond to all the parts and organs in your body. Reflexology is a noninvasive relaxation treatment, which will affect every gland, organ and part of your body indirectly.

Is Reflexology safe and effective?
Reflexology will be helpful whether you believe in it or not and it can not harm you in any way. It will simply help your body to relax and involuntarily put one into a parasympathetic or "rest and repair" state. In this state your body will be able to do what it was intended to do and heal itself. The usual response to a reflexology treatment is either relaxation or renewed energy.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a therapeutic technique based on the traditional Asian theory of life energy or Qi (chee), which flows through the body along specific channels, called meridians. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, imbalances in the flow of Qi is responsible for or contributes to a wide variety of medical conditions, which may therefore be treated by restoring this balance creating optimal health.

How does it work?
The acupuncturist inserts needles into specific acupoints along selected meridians determined by the symptoms presented. This is done in order to either increase or decrease the flow of Qi along that meridian, thus bringing balance to the internal functioning of the body.

Recent studies observing acupuncture suggest that it has a stimulating effect on the nervous system. These effects mobilize and regulate "Qi", moisture, and blood to invigorate proper function of the muscles, nerves, vessels, glands and organs throughout the body. In simple terms acupuncture will improve all the circulatory systems of the body and reduce inflammation allowing the body to function more efficiently and repair itself.
